Which map should you study? The Géocartie catalogue
Continents, countries of the world, Europe, France, Germany, Spain, the United States: the catalogue sorts every map by continent and by country, with a preview before you start.Which map should you study first?
Géocartie has around fifteen maps, ranging from the simplest (the continents) to the most demanding (countries of the world). The All maps page brings them all together and lets you choose in a matter of seconds.

Organized like the world itself
The catalogue follows three levels: the world, then each continent, then each country.
- The world — continents and countries of the world.
- Europe — countries of Europe, then each country: regions and French departments, German Länder, autonomous communities and Spanish provinces, regions and Belgian provinces, nations of the United Kingdom.
- The Americas — US states and Canadian provinces.
Every destination shows the actual shape of the map, not a generic image: what you see in the thumbnail is exactly what you'll play. Hover over an entry — or tab to it with the keyboard — and the preview appears enlarged next to the list, so you can recognize a map before you even read its name.
The navigation follows the same logic
The navigation bar mirrors this same hierarchy. Wherever you are on the site, it shows where in the world you currently are and lets you drill down into a country or move back up to a continent without going through the home page.
Menus now open on click rather than on hover: they no longer disappear the
moment your mouse strays, and they work with the keyboard just like any other
menu — arrow keys, Enter, Escape to close. Every menu ends with an All maps link that takes you back to the catalogue.
Where to start, in practice
Three entry points depending on your level:
- Just starting out? → The continents. Six territories, five minutes, and the basic structure of the world is in place.
- Want something solid? → Countries of Europe. Big enough to stay interesting, familiar enough not to discourage you.
- Want to break a sweat? → Countries of the world.
