Géocartie's maps: the world, Europe, the Americas
Continents, countries of the world, Europe, Germany, Belgium, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, France: the full list of maps to practice, and where to start.Every map you can practice on Géocartie
Géocartie started out with two maps: the regions and the French départements. They're still here, but they're no longer alone. Here's the full list — click on a map to start playing right away.

The world
- Continents — the quickest map to pick up, and a good starting point if you're new to the site.
- Countries of the world — the most demanding exercise in the catalog. Plan on several sessions.
Europe
- European countries, as a continent map.
- Germany and its Länder.
- Belgium, by region and by province.
- Spain, by autonomous community and by province.
- The United Kingdom and its nations: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland.
- France, by region and by département.
The Americas
- The United States and its states.
- Canada and its provinces.
Two difficulty levels per country
Several countries exist at two scales: regions then provinces for Belgium, autonomous communities then provinces for Spain, regions then départements for France.
This is deliberate, and the order matters: the larger scale teaches you the shape of the country, the smaller one makes you actually know it. Starting with the smaller scale is the surest way to get discouraged — French départements make no sense until the regions are already in place.
🎯 A tip on method. Play the large-scale map to 100%, two days in a row, before moving down a level. It's far faster than jumping straight into the fine-grained level.
Where these maps come from
Every map is built from public geographic data, then reviewed by hand. That's why they all feel alike: the same outlines, the same colors, the same hover and zoom behavior. Any newly added map inherits zoom, focus mode, dark mode, and the tooltip for free.
It's also why the list keeps growing. Missing a map? Let us know — that's exactly how the latest ones came about.
Your turn
The full catalog is on the All maps page. If you're not sure where to start, continents take five minutes. If you're feeling up for a challenge, countries of the world are waiting for you.
